Hair Care After Braid Removal. Dry scalp and hair leads to breakage and thinning hairline. If you try to wash away clumpsknots of matted or tangled hair what happens instead is you end up with a big matted mess.
Clarify do not co-wash. Read more about my horrible relaxer experience here. A silk headscarf or a satin pillowcase will help keep your braids from drying out.
When your hair has been in a protective style for 6-8 weeks or 1-3 months it is important that your scalp is thoroughly cleansed especially if you braided the hair down with a thick styler and regularly applied oils to the scalp while the extensions were installed.
Add an oil to your conditioner to add extra moisture to. This product will also make it easier to detangle your hair once the braid is removed. Do not try to remove these styles while your hair is dry. Dry them with a soft towel or better yet an old tee shirt by squeezing them in sections.
